Related Tabs for Supplies on the Equipment File

We’re dealing with a growing range of supply options within the same model—compatibles, high/med/low yield cartridges, and finishing accessory items like staples that are specific to certain finishers. A single model can support multiple finishing configurations, and production units often accommodate different ink cartridge sizes, with an additional accessory purchased to accommodate the larger ink cartridge requiring additional accessories. While the current item file “Related” tab helps, it lists all possible options for a model, not those tailored to the actual equipment configuration or customer or company preference.

I’d like to suggest adding a “Related” tab at the equipment record level that will defaults from the host item’s related tab but can be customized. This would allow us to define a supply hierarchy specific to that equipment setup. As we continue moving toward more automation, this enhancement would help reduce manual intervention and ensure the correct supplies are pulled for each customer. Also, with offerings of different meter collection platforms predicting supply usage and as we desire to automate these orders there isn’t a easy way to identify unit specific needs.
