We manage multiple contract types for Copiers, IT and Voice. For IT and Voice contracts we use Item-Based billing for greater flexibility. When we create a new IT/Voice contract, it automatically defaults to “Inherit distribution code from Installed based billing tab,” which goes to the master Base distribution code. We have set within each item the Contract base distribution code that we want it to hit; however, in order to accomplish this, we have to uncheck the “Inherit…” box and lookup the appropriate Base distribution code – it does not pull through from the item automatically. Is there a way to automate this better? It’s a very manual process right now which allows room for inconsistencies when selecting the Base distribution codes.
